At Laser World of Photonics 2025 in Munich, Dr. Toni Pasanen presented the latest advances in ElFys’ cutting-edge photodetector technology: NIR-optimized black silicon 4-quadrant photodiodes with high sensivity and fast speed.
The new detector demonstrated a responsivity of 0.64 A/W at 1064 nm, delivering over 30% higher responsivity compared to current state‑of‑the‑art solutions. This leap in performance is achieved while maintaining the key performance attributes essential for demanding applications: low dark current, high sensitivity, and precise positional accuracy.
By combining breakthrough black silicon technology with proven quadrant detector design, ElFys is setting a new benchmark for precision optical measurements. These performance gains open the door for advancements across photonics-based applications such as laser alignment, precision tracking, and biomedical instrumentation.
