Enter Espoo has released a Success Story article highlighting ElFys’ development and unique photodetector technology. The story describes how a research idea originating at Aalto University led to a “once-in-a-lifetime” moment, the invention of a new type of photodiode that became the foundation for ElFys’ patented Black Silicon technology.

Today, ElFys manufactures ultra-sensitive photodetectors used in medical devices, analytical instruments, and defence technologies. The company serves more than 100 customers in over 20 countries, with around 90% of its production exported worldwide.
